Streaky Dance

Yorkshire Sculpture Park, 2023–2026

Streaky Dance is a large-scale outdoor sculpture commissioned by Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Continuing my exploration of the relationship between figurative and abstract forms, the work combines simplified body shapes with bold colour and playful geometry to create a sculpture that feels both familiar and ambiguous.

Drawing on childhood memories, play and the complexity of identity, Streaky Dance celebrates individuality and the female body. While the work carries a sense of optimism and humour, it also reflects on the ways we perceive ourselves and one another, inviting visitors to embrace difference and the uniqueness of our own forms. The sculpture has remained on display at Yorkshire Sculpture Park from 2023 to 2026, engaging audiences within one of the UK's leading sculpture parks.

The sculpture has also gained recognition beyond the art world. Streaky Dance has been featured in both Harper's BAZAAR and The Observer, where it formed the backdrop to the fashion editorial Form and Function with This Season's Sculptural Coats. The editorial explored the relationship between sculpture, fashion and the body, bringing the work to an international audience and highlighting its bold use of colour, form and movement.
